The perfect chili, well almost.

I have set out to try some different chili spices to come up with an excellent tasting chili. I will be using 5 different mixes or spices. The recipe will include 1-lb of ground beef, 1 can of chili beans, and 1 can of diced tomatoes. The kick off batch will be early in November, followed by the others. Taste results will be posted.

Frenchs Chili-O, Original.
Contains 720 mg sodium and 1 g of dietary fiber.

Carroll Shelbys Chili Kit

McCormick Original Chili seasoning mix
Contains 310 mg of sodium and 2 g of dietary fiber.
I tried this mix and found no particular dominate taste. This can be eaten without Tabasco sauce. However I always end up adding Tabasco since I love that flavor.
Bloemer's chili powder.
I mixed 3/4 packet with 1# of hamburger. This has a mild traditional chili taste. I found it very good and not too hot.

Ancho Chili Powder is not commonly available in grocery stores. This had its own unique flavor in the chili. It adds a slightly sweet and hearty flavor to the chili. This was more filling than the other chili's I made.
